As a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) Officer, you will deliver TROs in accordance with legislation and design standards and council policies. TROs facilitate the legal change of the operation of the highway including speed limits, pedestrian crossings and parking restrictions that improve road safety, congestion, and sustainable travel. As such your work will play a key role in the development of a range of projects from minor highway works to major infrastructure schemes.
You will deliver TROs in accordance with legislation. You will prepare reports, manage correspondence, assist in public engagement, and collaborate with internal teams and legal services. You will provide supervision to junior members of the team. You will undertake site visits and audit completed site works.
You will provide professional support to other teams including providing advice pertaining to legislation and regulations.
You will commission TRO work to other consultants, managing the relationship to ensure the delivery of TROs. You will assist the TRO Manager in procurement and management of TRO-related contracts.
As a Traffic Regulation Order Officer, you will have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all aspects of TRO work, including interpreting, and applying highway legislation and regulations.
You will have experience in building productive relationships with other teams to ensure that highway projects meet their objectives.
You will possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written, the ability to audit construction works related to a TRO, and the ability to make logical and rational decisions.
