Welcome to our Dinner and Annual Awards page, where you will find the latest Annual Awards submission guidelines, timetables and sponsorship information. We will update this website throughout the summer and early autumn, as tickets for the Dinner go on sale, and final plans for the evening are announced.
This year the Awards will be presented at our Annual Dinner at the Crowne Plaza in Newcastle on Thursday 17th October.
This years event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with BBC travel presenter Gilly Hope hosting the event.
Gilly Hope has always lived and worked in the North East and has been working in TV and Radio for over 20 years- the majority of her working life so far has required a 4 am alarm clock to cover breakfast! Gilly has created many documentary style pieces looking at some of the bigger news stories in the region, lecturing in media and journalism to college students and worked in the commercial radio sector for 8 years too, throughout that time she has been producing and presenting the travel bulletins each morning for breakfast TV and Radio and she is honoured and thrilled to be with you this evening at the Ciht annual Dinner.
The CIHT North East & Cumbria Annual Awards celebrate the very best the region offers across the key areas of highways and transportation. They are open to everyone: members and non-members; small and large organisations; public, private and third sector. The Awards recognise the outstanding contribution that good projects and people make to our daily lives.
This year we are launching a new award, Innovation Project of the Year, alongside our regular awards - Project of the Year, Sustainability Project of the Year, Young Professional of the Year and Apprentice of the Year.
All shortlisted entries will receive one complimentary free ticket to the dinner.
